I'm trying to date and authenticate my jacket. The sleeve zippers are IDEAL, which date as late 80's/early 90's. But I am confused by some missing details. The coin pocket has no snap. The belt has no belt holes. Everything else seems legit, but those details are very odd? I'm pretty sure it's the 118 style since it has a fuller cut. But, again, not too sure??
Based on the information you have provided I cannot even determine the style number, or the age of the jacket. To confirm a style and whe nit was made I need more information and photos of the jacket. First check in the pockets for a white ticket usually in the coin pocket, this white ticket will have numbers and possibly the style number depending on age of jacket. I will also need photos of the jacket, front and back, the body lining, the labels in the jacket and the name on the front zipper pull. Gail
There is no white ticket in the coin pocket or elsewhere with a style number. The front zipper pull is YKK. The body liner is quilted. The sleeves are black flannel. The pocket are cream flannel. The label has the guy on the motorcycle. I hope this helps!
I checked our old catalogs during the time we used Ideal zippers and could not locate this exact style. The jacket is also missing the collar and lapel snaps. It is possible this was a special production lot we made a specific style for one of our retailers. If the pocket ticket was still in the pocket it would answer some questions on the style. I really do not understand why the belt does not have belt holes as this does not make sense as it appears the buckle has a tong to insert into a belt hole. The other reason it may not have a pocket ticket is that it is a proto or sample jacket we made but never produced. This could also be the reason the jacket seems to be missing things. I wish I could help you more, but this jacket is one I don't have the answers on. Gail
