Gail, I just wanted to know if Schott ever made jackets for Wendel's Leather. Saw what looks like an old 613 with the Wendel's Leather tag next to the American flag instead of the Schott NYC tag on back (under neck) of jacket.
To be honest I do not know, we have made many private label jackets through the years, though I do not remember Wendell. I am not sure what label you are referring to as the Schott NYC tag. You can check for a Leathercraft Label for cleaning instructions, all our older jackets even private label had this cleaning label. Gail
I was referring to the sewn in Perfecto label with the flag on the lining in the back of jacket. Instead of the Perfecto label (with the motorcycle and rider), there's a sewn in label that says "Wendel's Leathers".
I was just curious because this particular jacket looks like a 618 with stars on epaulettes but no Leathercraft tag on the lining and no inside pockets. It also has darkened Schott snaps instead of the shiny nickle snaps.
Private label production would not have the Perfecto label in the jacket unless they requested our label also to be in the jacket. As with any used jacket you never really know the history of the jacket. Having Schott logo snaps, it appears it could have been made by us. Gail
